This weeks topic reminded me of when I was a preteen playing d & d with my friends and rolling the dice to see if my +2 mace could destroy the goblin. the funny part was I thought we were the coolest.
I think your concept is really good -- a lot of entries have just done a hideous caricature of a geek. By focussing on an aspect of geekiness I think you've got a really good editorial illustration.
I think the main weakness of your drawing is the hand, and the text on the front of the book. Obviously you have a loose style, but I think that if you had spent a short while longer drawing the D&D logo rather than just writing it would give your illo more impact.
Maybe you could work from a photo the next time you draw a hand?
